If you follow us on Instagram, you may of noticed that last month we cruised from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and back with Royal Caribbean on board their newest ship Quantum of the Seas. I’d had wanted to shoot this Alice McCall jumpsuit for ages, and our first morning sailing the high seas gave us the perfect backdrop.
I woke up super early and saw a sliver of golden light peaking through the curtains in our stateroom. It had been raining when we left Singapore the night before, but opening the curtains in the morning was a whole other story. The sun was coming up over the Indian Ocean, bathing our entire balcony in a rich golden glow. I quickly snapped this photo on my phone and ran back inside to wake my travel buddy Lizi by thrusting the photo about a centimetre away from her face yelling “THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE OUTSIDE!” Luckily Lizi is a morning person and froths on sunrises just as much as I do, so she was stoked to open her eyes to a sunrise-on-a-phone in her face.
What I love about this jumpsuit is how the gold pineapples in the fabric catch the light. It’s super sheer and flowy, making it the perfect piece for the humid Asian weather. I really dig how the wide-leg style makes it look more like a dress than a jumpsuit. Not that I have anything against a jumpsuit, it’s just that being 5’4″ I find them hard to pull off – which is why I was super excited to wear this gold pineapple baby while cruising.
We cruised on Quantum of the Seas between Singapore and Malaysia as guests of Royal Caribbean. Their identical sister ship Ovation of the Seas is currently being built and will be based in Australia from December 2016 for the summer season YAY! To find out more, head to royalcaribbean.com
