My introduction to Myprotein’s new Composure Collection couldn’t have come at a better time. I’ve always loved good quality activewear (especially a matching set), and Myprotein’s new range is a great option in a crowded market.
While I usually exercise six to seven times a week, everything was put on hold 10 weeks ago back in October when my sweet baby Ryder was born. I had an emergency caesarean which meant I had to wait a full six weeks after his birth before I was given the all clear to start exercising again. Having never had major surgery before, I was nervous to get back to my regular Pilates classes. Which is why when my new Myprotein pieces arrived, I knew they were just what I needed to get back in the saddle (AKA the reformer machine).
The new Composure Collection has been designed with Pilates and yoga in mind. Their pieces have been carefully created to support you through your practice by providing maximum comfort and increased mobility. The soft-touch fabric combined with cover-stitch seams ensures ultimate comfort and minimal irritation. Plus, the seams have been tactically placed to contour around your muscles. After major surgery and breastfeeding challenges, I can’t tell you how good it felt to have something so soft and supportive on my recovering body.
Even the colour palette has been well thought out, with calming pastel hues designed to steady both the body and mind. I chose the ‘Galaxy’ colour which is a soft marle grey – the ultimate neutral.
Whether you’ve just had a baby like me, or you’re at your fittest – the support and comfort from the Myprotein Composure Collection is perfect for before, during and after your practice. Scroll down for my run down of the collection piece-by-piece…
The Composure Leggings were exactly what I needed with a high, supportive waistband that’s been developed to stay in place as you move through your practice.
Even though I exercised throughout my pregnancy and my abdominal separation was minimal, my core is definitely not as strong as it used to be. The supportive waistband definitely provided some much needed support to my waist and lower back. And I love how high waisted they are – I didn’t think I’d feel comfortable exercising in just leggings and a sports bra this soon after giving birth, but I felt very streamlined and strong in these leggings.
I’m wearing size XS.
I LOVE a sports bra with a feature back, so with its strappy cross-back design, this one ticked all the boxes. The Composure Sports Bra is not just flattering, it’s also incredibly supportive too. There’s an elasticated under-bust band that offers support while allowing for a full range of movement. The band comes down a little lower than a lot of my other sports bras, which I love as I’m not one to show too much tummy throughout a Pilates class, even before I was pregnant.
It’s also designed from four-way stretch fabric that’s super-soft, so whether you’re doing Pilates or yoga, you can be comfy throughout your class.
I’m wearing size S.
If you like to add a layer before, during or after a class, this is the tee for you! The multi-functional Composure T-Shirt has an elasticated hem so you can adjust the fit based on your activity. With the ability to pull the hem in, it means that the tee doesn’t ride up or move when in downward positions. And just like the sports bra, the four-way stretch fabric offers more freedom to move and flow.
I’m wearing size M as I like my tees to be more oversized.
My post-Pilates green juice recipe:
I always start my day with a smoothie, but during my pregnancy, I also started incorporating fresh juices. I find that green juices can be a bit hit and miss. You really need to get that mix of fruit and veggies right, otherwise it can end up tasting too ‘grassy’.
Here’s my favourite combination:
Pear, pink lady apple (for sweetness), banana, cucumber, spinach, kale and mint.
