When the last day of Rosemount Australian Fashion Week rolled around, I was exhausted. Thankfully Friday’s schedule was significantly quieter with swimwear designer Lisa Maree being the only real draw card for This Island Life. With models striding down the runway in crow headpieces, giant black feathered and silk reptile print wings, this was one of the best swimwear shows I saw all week. Make-up was just as theatrical, taking dramatic cues from Black Swan with dark smokey eyes. And staying true to her signature style, Lisa Maree made sure that her crochet swimwear was featured heavily throughout. She’s one of the few designers doing crochet well, which is why I am going to need to invest in one as soon as they hit the shelves.
