If I was stranded on a deserted island and could only take one outfit, it would be a bikini and robe combo. There’s nothing better than living the island life in a bikini with a robe to throw on when the occasion calls for it. In the instance, the occasion was a delicious lunch. We’d just checked-in to our incredible villa at Raffles on Praslin Island, complete with private plunge pool, when the staff brought around the best in-room lunch I’ve ever had.
With such breathtaking surrounds, I’m glad I had packed resort wear that could do this beautiful villa justice. I paired this kimono-style robe by Australian designer Shona Joy, with a bikini by one of my favourite local swimwear labels – Aloé Swimwear. I love neutral tones, but both of these pieces are anything but basic. With bold white and mocha stripes, white fringing and a luxurious hood that makes me feel like Whitney Houston from the bodyguard, this robe is as cool as they come. Like all Aloé pieces, this bikini is reversible with a solid pinky-nude tone that reverses out to a white striped design. It’s also hardware free making it crazy comfy and perfect to leave on for post-lunch naps on a fluffy white hotel bed. Because that’s what island life is all about at one of the most spectacular resorts in the Seychelles.
