The guys I went to high school with sure are a talented crew – musicians, photographers, board shapers, artists and furniture designers, they’re all over the creative scene. Australian artist Shaun Freeman is one of them and he’s having a solo show titled ‘Paradisio’ that’s kicking off Friday the 1st of February at the Glass Onion Society on the Central Coast.
Combining photography and painted timber carvings, Freeman’s work sums up island life to a tee. Palm trees, geometric patterns and surf photography work in unison to create a body of work that reflects Freeman’s strong connection to the ocean. Growing up by the beach and surfing everyday has inspired a recurrent theme throughout Freeman’s work, and we can’t wait to see the pieces alongside each other on opening night.
