Italian art photographer Massimo Vitali has captured some of the Mediterranean’s most picturesque coastline and what’s interesting about his work, is that it’s not just about the landscape. Vitali is concerned with the way that people interact with their natural environment rather than the location itself. He speaks of a herd-like mentality that is represented in the crowds of people and their passive involvement in the landscape. His voyeuristic approach gives you the feeling that you’re perched somewhere high on a cliff or on a hotel balcony – taking in the view with your fuck off long lens while the people below go about their business none the wiser. Luckily it’s not creepy when it’s art.
