Stargazing on Vava’u Island, Tonga

Living in the city, I sometimes forget how epic the sky can look. We’re on a remote group of islands in Tonga called Vava’u, where most nights we walk 25 minutes along a dirt road home from dinner. Last time we were in the South Pacific we saw three shooting stars in one night. While we didn’t see any shooting starts last night, my friend Scott Portelli from Swimming with Gentle Giants, who also happens to be an epic photographer snapped these incredible shots of the night sky.

We’ve only been in Tonga a few days, but we’ve already got heaps of great travel articles to share. If you need a sneak peek, make sure you follow us on Instagram.
