Whenever I’m asked to list my favourite travel destinations, Cambodia is always at the top of the list. I first visited the country eight years ago where its history, the people, their struggles and the incredible lost city of Angkor made a huge impact on me. I spent three weeks exploring the country from top to bottom, starting at Siem Reap and making my way south to the capital of Phnom Penh and then down to the coastal town of Sihanoukville and the island of Koh Rong Saloem. While each of these destinations where unique in their own way, nothing compared to the mysterious medieval city of Angkor in Siem Reap – a temple complex built in the 12th century that is the biggest religious complex in the world.
For eight years I’d been hoping to get back to Cambodia, so I was beyond excited that my Topdeck itinerary included Siem Reap. I was lucky enough to discover Angkor and the town of Siem Reap all over again, and this time with my new travel buddy Rachel Phillips (AKA DJ Minx).
So sit back, watch the fourth and fifth episodes of the series, peruse my photo diary and get inspired to visit Cambodia for yourself. To find out more about Topdeck trips in Asia or to book, visit topdeck.travel
